General Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Common questions about TreVita — how we operate, what to expect, and the details that matter most before your visit.

General
TreVita has been in business since 2018, but our team and subject matter experts have many decades of combined experience. Our partner facilities and medical staff are some of the best available, with long track records of success and quality client care.
All of our client coordinators and surgeons speak English, and there is always a fluent English-speaking staff member on the floor at all times — even after hours. Communication is never a barrier to your care.
Yes! For bariatric and stem cell clients, you are welcome to bring one person with you free of charge. All rooms are equipped to accommodate your guest throughout your stay. For plastic surgery clients, additional fees would apply for your companion's accommodations during your stay at the recovery house. Your client coordinator can answer any questions you and your guest may have, including local recommendations. Please keep in mind that your companion's meals are not included.
Travel
We have you covered. Transportation to and from the airport is on us. One of our dedicated drivers will pick you up from the San Diego airport and take you directly to your hotel and surgical center in Baja California. At the end of your stay, we will drive you back to the San Diego Airport.
No! The facilities we work with are issued a special medical travel pass to ensure a hassle-free border crossing. This is one of the many logistical details we handle so you don't have to worry about it.
Unfortunately, no — we do not provide that service. You are responsible for your travel to San Diego. Once you have your flight information, you send it to us so we can arrange for pick up at the airport and take you to your hotel and surgical facility in Baja California.
Nearly 40 million Americans safely travel to Mexico every year. Many return again and again. The more important question is about your medical safety — and this is where choosing a trustworthy organization like TreVita matters. We do in-depth research on potential business partners and get to know them before working with them, so you can trust that you will receive high-quality care and an outstanding overall experience. If you are unfamiliar with the area and/or do not speak the language, the chances of receiving the same quality of care and services you would have received through an organization like TreVita are low.
The risks of a complication vary by surgical procedure. Your surgeon will review the potential risks and complications with you before your surgery. If you have a complication after discharge from the hospital, your surgeon and their teams will assist you in solving the issue. Our U.S.-based coordination team is always reachable.
From the moment you land in San Diego, everything is handled. A dedicated driver picks you up, takes you across the border with a medical travel pass, and brings you directly to your hotel or surgical facility. Your client coordinator is available throughout your stay for anything you need — from local recommendations to medical questions. After your procedure, you'll recover in comfortable accommodations close to the clinic, with your care team checking in regularly.

Stem Cell Therapy

Stem Cell FAQ's

Clear answers about our regenerative treatments — what they involve, who they help, and what to expect.

About Stem Cells
Our partner clinic utilizes placental stem cells that are ethically sourced from consenting donors. These placentas undergo a comprehensive screening process to ensure they are ethically obtained and meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
Stem cell therapy is used to treat a variety of conditions, including autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, sports injuries, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. Our therapies are designed to reduce inflammation, aid in tissue regeneration, and enhance overall wellness.
The number of stem cells needed for treatment can vary depending on the specific condition being addressed. Each client's needs are unique, and many individuals see positive results after just one session. We tailor follow-up treatments as needed to ensure the best outcomes.
Safety & Quality
Safety is a top priority at TreVita. Our stem cell treatments adhere to strict regulatory standards and are performed by highly skilled professionals. All treatments are based on the latest research and ethical practices to provide the safest and most effective care possible.
TreVita ensures the highest quality stem cells through rigorous verification processes. We partner with top laboratories and provide certificates of viability to ensure the stem cells meet the highest standards. These certificates provide detailed information on the count and quality of the stem cells, along with a comprehensive list of tests for bacteria, viruses, and fungi. This ensures you know the exact quality and quantity of the stem cells you are receiving.
Side effects are generally minimal and temporary. Side effects may include soreness or swelling at the injection site, headache, and in rare cases, fever. Our team is committed to minimizing any discomfort and will provide detailed care instructions to manage any symptoms effectively.
While we can't speak about the quality of other providers, at TreVita we ensure that our partner labs and medical facilities are thoroughly vetted and regulated, ensuring you receive the best quality stem cells. Additionally, we are the only company that provides you with a certificate of viability, detailing the quality and count of the stem cells you receive. Our commitment to transparency and quality sets us apart.
Treatment & Results
During a stem cell therapy session at TreVita, you will be under the care of our expert medical team. The procedure typically involves administering stem cells to the affected areas, which generally takes less than 1 hour. Our team ensures that you are comfortable and informed throughout the entire process.
The time to see results from stem cell therapy can vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated. Some clients may notice improvements within a few weeks, while others may see more gradual benefits over several months. After your stem cell therapy session, our medical team will monitor your progress and provide follow-up care to optimize your recovery.
The price varies significantly based on the quantity of stem cells you receive during your treatment. To get a quote, it's best to schedule a consultation and have one of our partner doctors review your particular needs.
Regulations
Due to strict FDA regulations, donor stem cell therapy is not allowed in the U.S. Mexico has different regulatory frameworks permitting their use, which is why many Americans choose to receive treatment in Baja California — just 20–30 minutes from San Diego's airport.
In the United States, receiving donor stem cells is highly restricted and generally not permitted unless the procedure has been independently approved by the FDA. Due to these strict regulations, accessing such therapies can be challenging. However, TreVita offers high-quality stem cell treatments just minutes from San Diego. In Mexico, the regulatory frameworks differ, allowing for the use of donor stem cells in therapeutic applications.
Bariatric Surgery

Weight Loss Surgery FAQ's

Answers about procedures, safety, recovery, and how we support your weight loss journey from start to finish.

Procedures & Candidacy
We offer a comprehensive range of weight loss procedures to help you achieve your health and wellness goals. Our offerings include bariatric surgery options like gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, and the duodenal switch, each tailored to meet your specific needs. These procedures are performed by experienced, US Board-certified surgeons who specialize in minimally invasive techniques to ensure optimal outcomes and recovery times. Our team is committed to supporting you throughout your journey, from initial consultation to post-operative care.
Your surgeon will advise on that. When you fill out your application and medical questionnaire, we send it to your chosen surgical facility. The doctor will review the information you provide and discuss your best surgical options with you. Then he or she will approve you for one of the procedures offered that best addresses your medical concerns.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction of residence, to register with and use the TreVita service.
Safety & Recovery
Client safety is our top priority, especially during surgery. We ensure the highest standards of safety by partnering with only US Board-certified surgeons who follow stringent medical protocols. Our facilities are equipped with the latest technology and adhere to rigorous health and safety guidelines. We maintain a low client-to-staff ratio, allowing personalized care and monitoring during and after surgery. Additionally, we conduct continuous evaluations of our practices and procedures to integrate the latest advancements in medical safety.
Surgery time and recovery is often specific to the client and the procedure being performed. That said, most procedures take less than a few hours with a total hospital day not exceeding 3 nights. If, however, you'd like additional time to recover and relax, rooms are available in the hospital's "hotel" wing for an additional cost. Specific instructions for post-operative recovery once you're back in the U.S. will be provided by your surgeon.
Results & Support
Post-operative weight loss can vary greatly between clients and procedures performed, but historically we've seen somewhere between 50%–70% total excess weight loss in the first 6 months. Your care team will work with you to set realistic expectations and provide ongoing support to maximize your results.
After your surgery, you retain the ability to communicate with your surgeon and their staff. Additionally, you will have access to the TreVita Wellness Subscription to empower and guide you as you progress on your journey.
We strive to provide transparent and competitive pricing for our weight loss surgery options. At TreVita, our affiliated plastic surgeons are highly skilled and board-certified by the Mexican Board of Plastic Surgeons, with some also being members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). However, the exact duration and nature of recovery can vary based on the specific surgery and an individual's overall health. We understand the importance of your work commitments, so we provide FMLA paperwork to help manage your leave.
The recovery process varies depending on the type of procedure performed. Our team provides detailed post-operative instructions and support to help facilitate a smooth and comfortable recovery. We encourage clients to follow these guidelines closely and schedule regular follow-up appointments to monitor progress and address any concerns.
Results & Pricing
While the longevity of results varies depending on factors such as individual anatomy and lifestyle choices, many plastic surgery procedures offer long-lasting to permanent results. Our surgeons provide realistic expectations during the consultation process and offer guidance on maintaining results through proper care and lifestyle choices.
Costs vary by procedure, surgeon, and location. After a consult with your surgeon you will receive a fully customized package that is tailored to your specific needs and goals. We offer competitive pricing and flexible financing options to make procedures accessible for a variety of budgets.

Hair Transplant

Hair Restoration FAQ's

Everything about FUE hair restoration — candidacy, the procedure, results, and what's included in your package.

Procedure & Candidacy
The best way to know is through a free consultation with one of our specialists. Generally, ideal candidates have a stable donor area, are in good overall health, and have realistic expectations about outcomes. Our medical team will review your specific hair loss pattern (whether on the scalp or in the beard), donor density, and goals during your consultation.
The complete FUE procedure takes between 6 and 8 hours, depending on the number of grafts. Anywhere from 1,001 to 4,000 grafts can be implanted in a single session.
FUE is a virtually painless procedure performed under local anesthesia — no general anesthesia is needed. Most clients are back to their routine within days.
We use FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), the modern gold standard in hair transplant. It's favored for its non-invasive nature, minimal scarring, fast recovery, and natural-looking outcomes — without the linear scar left behind by older strip-harvesting techniques.
Results & Safety
Yes. FUE produces natural-looking results that grow, style, and age like your own hair — significantly improving the appearance of receding hairlines, bald spots, or patchy beards, undetectable from the naked eye.
Initial shedding at 2–4 weeks is normal. Visible regrowth begins at 3–4 months, and full results are visible at 9–12 months. The results are permanent.
Your procedure is performed by board-certified, licensed physicians in first-class medical facilities with industry-leading equipment. Care is coordinated by a U.S.-based team, with a full post-op care kit and 1-year follow-up support.
Packages & Pricing
Your experience is coordinated end-to-end: private transport (airfare not included), a 5-star partner hotel stay, on-site concierge, Wi-Fi at the hospital and hotel, a full post-op care kit, a written aftercare guide, and 1-year follow-up support.
Yes — financing options are available. Our team will walk you through the available payment options during your free consultation.
Cost depends on your specific procedure and the number of grafts required. Your specialist will provide clear, personalized pricing after reviewing your hair loss pattern and goals during your free consultation.
